It’s of little wonder why this precious gem has always been a sweetheart of the rich and famous. The remarkable beauty and unmistakable brilliance exuded by a sapphire have captivated the imagination of everyone for centuries. While it is available in a rainbow of colors, such as yellow, green, and grey; blue and pink continue to remain the most sought-after hues. But no matter which shade you pick, a sapphire will effortlessly capture attention with its sheer splendor.

One of the prime reasons for the immense and ever-growing popularity of this gem can be attributed to its magnificent color that is reminiscent of lush green forests. This very color is associated with growth, fertility, and new beginnings – making emerald the most recognized symbol of rebirth.

Naturally flawless emeralds are extremely rare and hence understandably very valuable. Often, emeralds with minute flaws are preferred over the flawless version as they are considered to be more authentic. The inclusions present on this gem are known as ‘Jardin,’ French for garden, due to their grass-like appearance. These flaws add a certain character to the emerald, making it even more fascinating. For all these and many more reasons, the May birthstone is most certainly a worthwhile investment and a priceless gift for someone you love.
